But the area is bursting with undiscovered gastronomic talent in the form of quaint and quality restaurants and bistros. Here are a few we have tried and tested and believe its time to share the wealth!

In Cannes you have a plethora of restaurants of varying food types but one that we love is Le Salon des Independents, hidden at the top of the old town area of Le Suquet. The food is Mediterranean and delicious and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The idea is you pay 35 euros and it is all included. You immediately get served you glass of champagne and first of two starters and then the food just keep coming! You choose you main course and dessert and the colour of your desired tipple and then that’s it. You do not spend ten unsociable minutes looking through the menu; you just get straight in to a good night. There is a music played in the form of a small band walking through the restaurant and the ambience is really wonderful!

In the narrow streets of picturesque Valbonne, there is a great little restaurant called Cadran de Solaire, which is also a great find. The food is again local but with a twist such as Tarte Tatin with duck and honey! The service is again a real bonus and never to be underestimated in the whole dining experience. The menus are from 25 to 30 euros and include starter, mains and dessert.

In Mougins, we simply adore Place de Mougins which is something a little bit different but exquisite food in a luxury setting. It is more expensive than our other choices but nevertheless a must visit when in the area. The chef has come from the Louis IXX in Monaco and brings with him his twist on gourmet food using local and seasonal ingredients. It is definitely recommended to sit on the terrace when possible as this gives you the best view over the old town on Mougins with its century’s old fountain and bougainvillaea lined streets.

In Antibes, you have many restaurants on offer and can sit out on the terraces or snug in the cave of a quaint restaurant. One we particularly love, is Le Brulot, in the centre close to the Provencal Market. It is only a stones throw away from the Cap d’Antibes so easily accessible from your luxury villa! It is again reasonably price and wood oven cooks the food giving its duck breast a fantastic smoky flavour.

Mougins offers an abundance of horse riding clubs catering for all levels of riders from 4 years up with classes or forest treks. Ferme d’Anais and Hippique des Basses Breguieres are two which cater for all ages and levels.

Eco Parc

A science park aimed at children from 4-12, this attraction aims to promote learning through fun activities and exhibitions. It’s a very hands-on, fun and enjoyable time in a great atmosphere.

Outdoor Adventure Parks
Close to Mougins there are numerous outdoor adventure parks for all ages and degrees of courage! Riviera Nature Parcours is a family friendly adventure playground in the trees offers more than 45 games and has a magnificent panoramic view over the French Riviera. Canyoun Forest and Pitchoun Park offer a variety of themes and difficulty levels. Pitchoun Forest is more aimed towards smaller children (3- 10 years)
Tennis
Mougins and surrounding areas have plenty of public tennis courts available and private coaching is available in most of these with prior booking required.
Theme Parks
Marineland is Europe’s biggest aquatic animal world . Whale, sea lion and dolphin shows, penguins and seals, aquarium and children’s play areas all lend to a great day out. There is also a farm; mini golf and water world close by.
Le Bois des Lutins is a park on the theme of gnomes made of nets leading you up tree trunks and slides to come back down again. Great fun for youngsters from 2 years old, teenagers and even parents!

Animal Parks
Parc Phoenix is in Nice and is spread out over 7 hectares and houses 2500 species of plants, aquariums and exotic animals. It’s a great day out with picnic areas and a playground within the grounds.
Karting
There are karting circuits in Mougins and also in Antibes for children over 4 years old. Buggy Cross is situated in Mougins and offers quands and mini motorbikes.

From the colourful parasol crowded beaches of Cannes, to the sunset over the Cap d’Antibes, Paul’s work shows the Cote d’Azur through the eyes of a truly inspirational artist. The influence from 19th and 20th century masters is evident in Rafferty’s work, along with a number of contemporary painters working today.

Paul Rafferty has galleries in the medieval towns of St Paul de Vence and Mougins which are both great backgrounds for his exquisite works. His paintings adorn the walls of many a 5 star hotels and restaurants both on the Riviera and throughout the world as well as being popular with many private clients with luxury villas in the area.
